Abracadabra! A spell is cast. A feminist uprising unfolds. A legend steps into the light. Gittan Jönsson – feminist titan whose work graces Sweden’s Moderna Museet – conjures rebellion at Berlin’s artist-run hideout. From her 1960s Stockholm roots to her former Berlin studio, Jönsson has wielded art as magic: turning dishes into revolutions, vacuums into battle cries. Returning now to Berlin’s art scene, she conjures a feminist ritual – part protest, part prank, part puff of smoke.

At Abracadabra, where trial and error spark alchemy, her paintings – sharp, witty, feminist—reclaim domesticity as defiance. Her dammsugerskor (vacuuming women) sweep in, trailing cords like fuses, clearing space for revolt. Her film Parallella linjer (Parallel Lines – A Women’s Historical Document) traces 1970s activism to today’s burning question: Has art’s fight for equality stalled?

In this Berlin spell, her vacuum cleaners hum with rebellion, her canvases pulse with resistance. Step into the spell. Watch the dust settle into something new.
